Andrew Jelley
BSc(Hons) MCOptom. Prof Cert Glauc.
Andrew may have been around since
John Lennon specs were available on the NHS but he has made a
commitment to keeping right up to date and embracing all the new technologies now available at Andrew Jelley Opticians.
Having gained his degree from City
University in London in he immediatley moved into independent practice in Ipswich and after 5 years of invaluable experience, he and his wife Louise established Andrew Jelley Opticians in 1983.
In a world of increasing depersonalisation
he is proud to be still providing that independent service. He is particularly pleased that he is handing over to optometrists Alex and Rebecca Lane who share his commitment to community service.
He is also very proud that Dispensing Opticians Teresa Davies and Duncan Edwards have chosen to provide their exceptional professional services at Andrew Jelley Opticians for so many years.
Outside of optics Andrew enjoys the challenge of golf (a euphemism for not being very good at it but enjoying it nevertheless).
He is still involved with local rugby having enjoyed the challenge of that sport as well (see above).
Although in the autumn of his career he hope the knowledge and experience picked along the way will be put to some use for some time to come.
Rebecca Lane
BSc (Hons) MCOptom
Originally from Northamptonshire, Rebecca relocated to Herefordshire in 2005. She experienced working in different optical practices in Herefordshire and Wales before joining her husband Alex, at Andrew Jelley Opticians in 2016.
When the opportunity arises, Rebecca enjoys the theatre and visiting National Trust and English Heritage properties.
Duncan Edwards
F.B.D.O
Duncan qualified as a Dispensing Optician in 1999 from Cambridge Anglia. Duncan joined Andrew Jelley Opticians in 2009.
Duncan has a keen interest in the latest technologies and their application to modern ophthalmic lenses.
In is spare time, Duncan can be found in the studio or on stage playing bass guitar in his band!
Alex Lane.
BSc(Hons) MCOptom. Prof Cert Glauc. Prof Cert Med Ret
Born and raised in Hereford, Alex qualified as an Optometrist in 2003 and has been working in Herefordshire and Worcestershire ever since. He has higher qualifications in Glaucoma and Medical Retina.
When not working Alex likes to play tennis as well as swimming, cycling and running. When he is feeling particularly adventurous he will do all three in a row!
Teresa Davies
F.B.D.O
Born and raised in Bromyard, Teresa qualified as a Dispensing Optician in 2001 but has worked at Andrew Jelley Opticians for just a few more years than that. Aside from Mr Jelley himself, Teresa is our longest serving member of staff.
Teresa loves finding the perfect frames for each patient, the brighter and more colourful, the better.
When not at work, Teresa is kept busy tending to her many alpacas!
